From founders to frontline directors, the people building a world where no one is for sale.

Dr. David Batstone co-founded Not For Sale in 2007 after discovering a human trafficking ring operating out of his favorite Bay Area restaurant, an experience that became the basis for his book Not For Sale: The Return of the Global Slave Trade, and How We Can Fight It. He holds a PhD from the Graduate Theological Union and is Professor Emeritus at the University of San Francisco. The author of five books and recipient of the Peace Award from the United Nations Women for Peace Association, he is also co-founder and managing partner of Just Business, which has incubated REBBL, Dignita, and Regenerate Technology Global.

Mark Wexler co-founded Not For Sale in 2007 and has since built an ecosystem of enterprises designed to address the root causes of modern-day slavery and ecocide, including REBBL, Dignita, and Just Business. He serves on the board of Regenerate Technology Global (U.S.) and is currently helping to launch M2i Global, focused on responsible minerals supply chains. His research as a Visiting Research Fellow at King’s College London centered on minerals and metals supply chains and their human rights and environmental consequences. He has spoken at Stanford, Oxford, Notre Dame, and TEDxFurmanU, and is co-writing The Art of Being a REBBL with Dr. Batstone, accompanied by a 10-part documentary series with Emmy Award-winning Terra Mater Studios.
