Saving lives: A path to safety and hope
In 2024, your contributions empowered us to provide safety, support, and a future of hope for 15,394 people. These are all people impacted by human trafficking. Since our founding in 2007, we’ve reached 463,363 lives globally, building resilience and breaking the cycles of exploitation.
Every action you take to support Not For Sale fuels our ability to protect vulnerable individuals. This means we can do more to promote human trafficking prevention worldwide.
Protecting the planet: Securing a sustainable future
Our commitment to environmental conservation is inseparable from our mission to prevent human trafficking. In 2024, we safeguarded 753 square miles of the Amazon rainforest and planted 27,600 trees, doubling our lifetime total to 54,399.
These efforts not only protect ecosystems but also reduce the vulnerabilities that lead to exploitation. We’re reinforcing our fight for human trafficking prevention.
Transformative businesses: Driving change through innovation
Through transformative businesses, we’re proving that profitability and purpose can coexist. REBBL, our beverage company dedicated to impact, received the prestigious World Beverage Innovation Award for Plant-Based Beverages in 2024.
Meanwhile, Regenerate Technology Global advanced sustainable battery recycling solutions. They’re reinforcing our shared mission to create economic alternatives that further reduce the threat of human trafficking.
A global drive for human trafficking prevention
The US Department of State commented on how we can all work together through National Human Trafficking Prevention Month to make a difference:
“Despite the nearly worldwide adoption of international and domestic norms to address and prevent human trafficking, we continue to witness traffickers exploit people in the United States and around the world. But everyone has the power to help make a difference. Every Presidential proclamation for January ends with a call to action for all Americans to recognize the vital role everyone can play in combating all forms of human trafficking.”
National Human Trafficking Awareness Day is just the start
It’s clear that these efforts need to last much longer than #WearBlueDay or the first month of each year. It takes collaboration, empathy, bravery, and determination from everyone involved to put a stop to exploitation.
“Trafficking is the very definition of a problem that no one nation can solve alone,” explained Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, at the release of the 2024 Trafficking in Persons Report.
“More than ever, we have to work not only with governments but along with the private sector, civil society, multinational organizations, citizens, and survivors who understand the complex challenge and how we can confront it.”
Fighting the rise of forced labor
“Virtually every product we use in modern society involves forced labor and exploitation within its supply chain. From the clothes we wear, to the batteries powering our devices. Even the seafood on our tables,” explains Mark Wexler, co-founder of Not For Sale.
“Our vision is a world where everyone has access to dignified opportunities and the essential resources required for people to flourish.
“In our interconnected global economy, the reality is stark. We’re seeing a significant rise in forced labor cases driven by extreme environmental degradation and the exploitation of workers.
“This is why our multimodal approach, working holistically to stop human trafficking by supporting survivors and addressing root causes, is more important than ever.
“Our commitment is unwavering: to create a world where economic progress does not come at the cost of human dignity and a healthy environment.”
