Story hooks we’re reporting on now

01

The Ecocide–Trafficking Nexus

How illegal mining, deforestation, and overfishing are driving forced labor across the Amazon, the Congo Basin, and the Mekong. The story most environmental reporting and most trafficking reporting both miss.

02

The Cyber-Scam Economy

The compounds in Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia where trafficked people are forced to run online fraud at industrial scale. Where supply meets supply chain meets organized crime.

03

The Cobalt Question

Why every smartphone, EV, and laptop on the market is connected to debt bondage and child labor in the DRC, and what happens when battery recycling closes the loop.

04

Post-USAID Anti-Trafficking

How frontline NGOs are adapting after the largest disruption to global anti-trafficking funding in two decades.

05

The Madre de Dios Proof

How an indigenous-owned cooperative, a beverage company, and a 753-square-mile conservation area in the Peruvian Amazon stopped the trafficking trade in a region two governments could not.
